Adopt a Kitty
If you are interested in adopting a cat or kitten from our rescue, the first step of the process is to fill out an adoption application. Please take the time to answer each question on the application honestly and completely. Once the application is submitted, it will be reviewed by our organization and the potential adopter will be contacted to discuss the application and kitty of interest.
Once the application is approved, the next step is to schedule a meet and greet with the potential kitty. We hold adoption events every Saturday from 1 pm to 5 pm in the cat adoption room inside the Roswell PetSmart. Additional adoption times can be made by appointment with an approved adoption application. Please visit the adoption FAQ for more detailed information on our adoption process and the medical vetting provided to our cats and kittens.
Research from many leading animal behavior experts shows that kittens do best in home environments with other cats or kittens. It helps them become more socialized, better behaved, and less likely to exhibit destructive behavior because they are bored. As a general rule, we prefer to adopt kittens in pairs or to a home that already has another cat or kitten in residence or a cat-friendly dog. Please keep in mind if you have an older cat, we suggest getting two younger kittens who will be able to match each other’s energy level; otherwise, you will annoy an older cat who is unable to keep up with the crazy antics of a younger kitten.
Please be aware that submitting an application is not a guarantee for the adoption of a cat or kitten from our organization. Our rescue reserves the right of refusal if we do not believe it is the right match for the kitty. Reach out to us if we can address any additional questions or concerns. We really appreciate your interest in our shelter kitties!
